Basic skills in design optimization.

1. Formulation of optimization problem in engineering design. Unconstrained and constrained optimization. Algorithms and optimality conditions. Sensitivity analysis. Continuous, discrete and mixed integer problems. Conflicting design criteria and Pareto optimality. Linear and nonlinear programming. Optimal control theory. Plenty of applications in different fields of engineering design.     


Evaluation criteria for the course

Passed written examination or written intermediate examinations and accepted exercises.

Assessment scale:

Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course

Partial passing:

Completion parts must belong to the same implementation
