1. | Formulation of optimization problem in engineering design. Unconstrained and constrained optimization. Algorithms and optimality conditions. Sensitivity analysis. Continuous, discrete and mixed integer problems. Conflicting design criteria and Pareto optimality. Linear and nonlinear programming. Optimal control theory. Plenty of applications in different fields of engineering design. |
