- antaa opiskelijalle biotekniikan perusteiden tuntemus ja edellytykset biotekniikan kehityksen seuraamiseen
- antaa valmiudet biotekniikan suunnittelu-, tarkastus- ja tutkimusta tukeviin tehtäviin
