1. | The course is a hands-on laboratory exercise on basic methodologies in recombinant-DNA technologies and related fermentation technologies. The work consists of cloning of genes into E. coli expression vectors and verification of correct constructs. The resulting E. coli strains are inoculated into a fermentor and the growing kinetics and factors affecting the growth are studied. Finally, the expressed protein will be purified. Education in the methodologies related to protein analytical chemistry is provided throughout the course. |
