Requirements

The student shows how he or she has used English and the improvements in his or her linguistic skills. The essay must be 5000 words long and have five (5) references. There are several options for doing this, so the student should contact the teacher in advance to present a plan and, after the work, report on it to the teacher. The written work must be handed in within two months after presenting the plan. This work is an independent study, i.e it may not be part of any other student work or publication.

Content

1.	Good knowledge of and skills in technical and scientific writing and the use of varying lexicon, phrases and idioms typical to the genre.	Topic-specific technical jargon.	The use and recognition of proper text types and style.
2.	Understanding scientific texts and the use and knowledge of citation conventions.	Knowledge of topic-specific technical jargon, scientific language in general, and the words and phrases commonly used for references to other technical and scientific texts.

Evaluation criteria for the course

Knowledge of scientific, technical vocabulary, text production and general improvement in linguistic skills.
