Objectives

To introduce the basic steady-state analysis methods, and applying them on the different switched-mode converter toplogies for solving the input-output relations, steady-state inductor current, the volatge and current stresses of switching and magnetic components.

Content

Content Core content Complementary knowledge Specialist knowledge
1. Buck, boost, buck-boost, forward, flyback, full bridge, half bridge and push-pull topologies will be treated in detail. The topologies used typically in single-pahse power factor correction applications will be treated shortly as well as the basic control principles such as direct-duty-ratio control, peak-current-mode control, average-current-mode control, and the hysteretic-current-mode control.
