Automation Technologies for Intelligent Manufacturing Systems
Implementation 2

Implementation 2

Description:

Due to its complexity, to the tremendous amount of interactions among the different components and the variety of performed functions, the supervisory control system of flexible and automated production systems is currently built based on a multi-layer architecture, which is coarsely made up of the following main components: planning and decision support system (dynamic re-scheduling and dispatching), co-ordination- and logic control, monitoring and visualisation, diagnosis and error recovery, and maintenance, with functions closely related to the real-time "shop-floor supervision". The formal specification and the posterior intelligent supervision of operations are two close-related functions that should be present all along the life-cycle of flexible and reconfigurable production systems. Model-based approaches are very important when validated formal specifications of structure and behaviour of a system can then be used to support intelligent supervisory control functions like real-time control, monitoring, diagnosis, visualisation, application of error-recovery control strategies, maintenance, etc. Day 1 (3.08.2009): * Reconfigurable and Flexible Production Automation Systems * Intelligent Supervision of Flexible Production Systems (I): Components and Architectures (PERA, CIM and PWS). Day 2 (4.08.2009): * Intelligent Supervision of Flexible Production Systems (II): Functions. * Formal Specification of Reconfigurable and Flexible Production Automation Systems Day 3 (5.08.2009): * High-level Petri Net based Supervision of Reconfigurable and Flexible Production Automation Systems. Modelling. * Validation of Specifications of Reconfigurable and Flexible Production Automation Systems. Analysis Methods and Tools.
