Objectives

Common European Framework of Reference, Level B2. Objectives: To bring students into an experience of using technical vocabulary in their everyday spoken English. Vocabulary and information from Computer English 1 to be used in group exercises. Explaining technical English in a working environment. Students to prepare and deliver a presentation on a chosen technical subject (subject chosen by the student). Students will work and prepare and deliver their presentations in pairs or groups of three. (Presentations can be shot on a video camera with the permission of the student.)

1. Computer networks. How the internet works.     
2. How software works. How programming languages work.     
3. Input/output devices, eg how scanners and digital cameras capture images.     
4. Using information that has been collected during Computer English 1.     
5. Students' specialized subjects.     


Evaluation criteria for the course

Continuous assessment throughout the course. 75% attendance. Well prepared and presented presentation.

Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course
