To widen and deepen knowledge and understanding of the interactions between technological development and society in long-term perspectives, from local to global context.

1. | The course consists of invited lectures by professors and other experts concerning technological and societal development in general and specific technological domains in particular. The students are to produce personal lecture reviews and a reflective essay concerning the applicability of course contents in their own particular technological domain and research setting. Moreover, students will peer review other students' contributions. |

The course is organized every second year. The course will not be lectured in the academic year 2009-2010.
