Learning outcomes

Kehittää ja vahvistaa opiskelijoiden suullista englannin kielen taitoa ja antaa heille yleiskatsaus tieteen ja teknologian perussanastoon ja ilmauksiin.

Content

1. Sanasto: weights, measures, graphs, numerical expressions, mathematical terms, geometrical shapes and forms, faults, properties of materials, scientific and technical terminology.  Täydentävää lisämateriaalia oppilaitten tarpeitten mukaan.  Kohtiin 1-5 liittyen: kulttuuritietämys, sanonnat, vitsit, paralingvistiset ilmaukset, ruumiin kieli. 
2. Ääntäminen: englannin ääntämisen perusteet, yleisimmät virheääntämykset, suullisia harjoituksia.  Painotus- ja ääntämisharjoituksia niitä erityisesti tarvitseville, kertausharjoitukset.   
3. Peruskieliopin kertaus, esim. prepositiot, artikkelit, aikamuodot, passiivi.  Idiomit, fraasiverbit, lauseenparret.   
4. Tieteellisen tekstin lukutaidot: yleisluontoiset teknis-tieteelliset tekstit.  Ajankohtaisia lehti- ja uutisasioita, verkkoharjoituksia.   
5. Kirjoitustaidot: lyhyet tekniset kirjoitelmat, esseet.

Jatkuva arviointi (luokkatyöskentely, kotitehtävät, suullinen), sekä loppukoe.
