Written exam, antenna analysis assignment, and a modeling assignment.
-
Understanding of power transmission by electromagnetic waves, principles of radiation from antennas, typical antenna structures, and basic skills in modern antenna design.
Content | Core content | Complementary knowledge | Specialist knowledge |
1. | Foundations of propagation from antennas, antenna as a receiver.
2. | Aperture-, wire-, and cylindrical antennas. Antenna arrays.
3. | Travelling wave antennas, broadband antennas.
4. | Numerical design methods and tools. |
Exam and the assignments. Final grade is weighted sum of grades of the tasks (for passing the course at least grade one must be obtained from each of them): 0.15*"Grade from the modeling assignment"+0.35*"Grade from the analysis assignment"+0.5*"Grade from the exam". Note that exam may be completed by doing a set of additional assignments.
Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course
