Regular attendance; active participation in exercises; giving a high quality professional presentation.

Principles and baselines related to teaching and learning

Teaching methods will largely be task-based exercises, group, pair as well as whole class work, involving e.g. simulations and role plays. Students are expected to be as active as possible and the level of active participation will be one of the assessment criteria

Learning outcomes

After the course,the student will be able to communicate orally in a professional context. The student will be able to communicate competently in the following situations: small-talk and socializing, meetings and negotiations, giving a presentation, use of the telephone and exchanging information. The student will be able to communicate more spontaneously in unrehearsed pair and groupwork role-plays and simulations.

Evaluation criteria for the course

Continuous assessment based on performance, attendance and level of activity in the class exercises, performance of the professional presentation and general level and also development of oral skills during the course. There is no written test for this course.

Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course
