Osaamistavoitteet

Digital interactive television is a new paradigm in broadcasting. It ranges from simple digital TV shows, full digital production environments, internet platforms, to TV alike gaming platforms. This course provides a comprehensive introduction in the fascinating world of 'new' ways of television. The goal is to teach and educate students in digital video broadcasting and its related services. The course covers anything around a typical digiTV broadcasting and its essential components - from production to consumption of interactive digiTV shows. Several technical aspects in content creation, standards, High-Definition (HD), 3D-television, digital multiplexing and deploying digitized television signals are presented.

1.	The different subtopics of the course are: basics of digital TV, digital TV standards in depth, metadata in digital TV, digital TV playout, interactive TV services, TV and mobility, social TV, usability and broadcasting, Web and Internet TV.

Opintojakson arvostelu

The grading is based on the examination and the results of the exercise work. Each, exercises and examination account for 50% of the final result.
