Learning outcomes
After the course the student will be able to explain the history and theory of urban planning and design from the Garden Cities to the present day. The student will be able to explain on the basis of a chosen or given case example its background and interpret independently its meaning to the development of urban planning and design.

1. | In parallel with a history of modern urban planning, the course will cover different theoretical attitudes to urbanism from other disciplines. Part of the "workshop" part of the course will include the recreation of an experiment in the growth and development of the city. At the end of the course the students will get an idea of how cities grow. |
