BIOM-1456 Biodegradable polymers laboratory course, 5 cr |
Person responsible
Minna Kellomäki
Learning outcomes
After completing the course students are able to prepare samples of biodegradable polymers. Students are familiar with clean room conditions. They can summarize common things about sterilizing and packaging. Students have examined polymer degradation by hydrolysis series and the mechanical properties. Students can compare different structure studying methods of biodegradable polymer samples. After completing the course students can use the basic methods to be able to do their master's thesis.

Additional information
This course is part of the master's studies and is meant for students studying biomaterials or tissue engineering as their major. This course is recommended for the students who will be doing their master's thesis form this field.
This course won't be arranged for less than 10 students. If the number of students needs to be limited then the students with more studies from the field of biomaterials or tissue engineering will be first. The course is organized every second year.
Will not be lectured year 2010-2011
