Learning outcomes
After passing the course the student will understand techniques and applications of modern bioanalysis used in molecular and microbial. He/she will learn theory and operation of modern bio-analytical instruments and structure and function of macromolecules.
Content
Content | Core content | Complementary knowledge | Specialist knowledge |
1. | Outlines of bioanalysis theories | Theories of bioanalysis
2. | Basic operation of bioanalytical instruments | Complementary knowledge of operation of bioanalytical instruments
3. | Isolation and characterization of nucleic acids, proteins and lipids by analytical tools
4. | Amplification and analysis of structural and functional genes, proteins and biocatalysis, lipids and membrane functions |
Evaluation criteria for the course
The grade will be determined on the basis of an exam, accepted laboratory exercises, written and oral reporting. To pass the course with a grade 1 the student will have to score at least 50 % of the maximum points. A good understanding the core content will suffice to a grade 3. In order to earn a grade 4 or 5 the student will have to have a good or excellent understanding of complementary knowledge.
