Learning outcomes
After passing the course the student will have the ability to work independently in the laboratory as a part of a research group. He/she can plan, schedule and carry out laboratory experiments. The student will master the essential laboratory methods in biotechnology as well the use of instrumentation used in research. The student can also perform comparative analysis and draw conclusions from research data. The student can also report the findings both orally and in writing.

Evaluation criteria for the course
The grade (0-5) will be determined by the extent of self-initiative, diligence and activeness of the student. Also, meeting the schedule set for the project is of high importance. The quality and thoroughness of the report also affects the grade. A good understanding the core content will suffice to a grade 3. In order to earn a grade 4 or 5 the student will have to have a good or excellent understanding of complementary and specialist knowledge.
