Implementation Description Methods of instruction Implementation
BIO-3006 2011-01 This is an introductory course to biological wastewater treatment. The course is divided into three sections: I- covers basic principles, design, and operation of aerobic and anaerobic treatment processes including pretreatments, nitrification, denitrification, hydrolysis, fermentation, acidogenesis, methanogenesis, biogas production, mass balance, process kinetics, and reactor/digestor configurations. II- covers sludge production, treatment, and disposal. III- deals with xenobiotics in biological wastewater treatment plants and landfill leachate treatment.
