Course Catalog 2011-2012
MOL-6616 Degradation of Polymers, 5 cr |
Additional information
This course is lectured during every other academic year.
Will not be lectured year 2011-2012
Person responsible
Jyrki Vuorinen
Requirements
In order to complete this course you will have to give a lecture about a given topic, make a set of exercise questions and answer a set of questions given by other students, and collect a thesaurus of terms during the course.
There will be no final exam. The given grade will be a sum of grading given by the lecturer and other students.
Grading:
- Lecture is graded both by lecturer and other students, 50% weight.
- Exercises are graded both by lecturer and other students, 25% weight.
- Each student collects a thesaurus of terms. Thesaurus will be shown to teachers during the course and must be returned at the end of the course, 25% weight.
Completion parts must belong to the same implementation
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the student is able to define what various mechanisms induce degradation of polymers and what can be done to prevent, slow down or control these processes. Student is also familiar with methods that can be used to evaluate degradation of polymers and is able to analyze and apply these results in practice.
