Attendance in lectures. Passed exercise and examination. This course is for paper converting's post-graduate students only.

Learning outcomes

After this course student knows manufacturing processes and physical/chemical properties (relevant for packaging)of major packaging materials: paper, paperboard, corrugated board, glass, metals, polymers including biopolymers and adhesives.

1. Student knows the typical packages made of the main materials.  Student understands the material composite possibilities and their use.  Student has a capability to select alternatives or combinations for specific packaging solutions based on their possible performance characteristics. 

Evaluation criteria for the course

Grading 0-5, examination 70%, exercises 30%.
