Learning outcomes
After the course, the student is able to - name and analyse the effects of scaling in microfluidics - name the most important applications of microfluidics - name the strengths and limitations of microfluidics - explain function principles of the following microfluidic components: micropumps, microvalves, micromixers - name the most important fabrication principles used for manufacturing microfluidic structures and name their strengths, weaknesses and main areas of use - explain the operation principles of polymer microfabrication principles - explain and analyze the main principles of liquid plug flows - fabricate microfluidic structures using PDMS - model microfluidic structures using finite element modeling approach
