Requirements
The students will be employed in an urban-scale studio project that will be carried out as a group work. The project can also be completed as the methodological part of the student’s own diploma work or in combination to other larger courses.
Completion parts must belong to the same implementation
Learning outcomes
In this course the student learns to build parametric models of urban environment and critically test different sustainability parameters appropriate in different kind of urban planning and design situations. The student learns to connect geometric elements with external design and environmental parameters in databases.
Evaluation criteria for the course
The assigned project will be evaluated on a 0-5 grading scale. The grading is based on the small individual exercises (5/7 returned in order to pass the course). Attendance to lectures and studio groups will therefore affect the final evaluation.
Assessment scale:
Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course

On this course various digital design and analysis methods are taught at the scale of urban planning and design. Methods are based on learning basic parametric design tools (Grasshopper). Special focus is set on exploring the design principles of sustainability, which are sought, tested and applied on different urban scales from individual city blocks to regional systems. |
