RTT-6090 2012-01 COMPLEXITY OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, 4 cr Purpose of the course: The main objective of the course is to introduce new knowledge for understanding the logic and anatomy of modern construction operations. More specially the course shall provide to its attendees • Introduction of techniques to model networks of construction project stakeholders and their dependencies • Hands on modeling trials and assignments to obtain profound understanding of most prominent methods • Simulation experience of the performance of complex construction project with own managerial contribution. Student teams are acting as management team during the simulation experiment.. • Chances to meet leading experts and academics for doctoral students shall be arranged with the visiting lecturers. Target group: The target group are the doctoral and post-graduate (for MSc level) students who have interest towards new knowledge, novel approaches and solutions for understanding and managing construction operations successfully. Credits: For passing the course successfully the participants shall be awarded with 4 credit points. The successful course passing is composed of i) 5/6 attendance in lectures, ii) completed and accepted lecture diaries for each attended lecture, and iii) participation and contribution to the Sharkworld simulation as a team member.
