Description:
The course focuses on the principles and techniques of mobile location and navigation, with emphasis on satellite navigation systems. Also cellular-based positioning, WLAN-based positioning and Signal Of Opportunity (SoO)-based positioning are to be addressed. As a requisite to pass the course, each student will have to make a seminar presentation (in groups of 2 or 3 students) on a chosen topic among a list of topics. After the course, a student will have in-depth knowledge about positioning and navigation techniques. He or she will also gain knowledge about location based services and future of wireless navigation. It is highly recommended to take this course jointly with ELT-46106 Satellite Navigation Receivers

Requirements for 5 credits are: individual project work + team (2-3 persons) seminar presentation of 30 min/group on a chosen topic among a list of topics For 7 cr: as above + a report including a short Matlab demo on a topic related to comparisons between Galileo (as presented in this course) and GPS (as presented in ELT-46106 Satellite Navigation Receivers course)
