Requirements
The course includes weekly meetings in which students will present their results. No exam is included but a written report of the work is mandatory.
Completion parts must belong to the same implementation
Learning Outcomes
After passing the laboratory course the student can understand in practice how modern biotechnology research utilizes genetic engineering to enhance process for higher yields and improved down-stream processing. She/he will learn the rationale how to solve some of the key points from upstream to down-stream by genetic engineering. After the course, the student can carry out gene cloning, expression in host organism, protein purification via affinity chromatography and understand methods to analyze the protein of interest. By writing a scientific report the student will learn to summarize, rationalize and explain the scientific results.

Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes
The grade (0-5) will be determined by the extent of self-initiative, diligence and activeness of the student during the laboratory course. The quality of the scientific report also affects the grade. Meeting the schedule set for writing the report is of high importance. Attendance is expected at laboratory experiments.
Assessment scale:
Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course
