Description:
The studio looks at the design and development of city districts at multiple scales. The City of Turku has been selected as the subject of the studio in fall 2013. The objective of the studio is to analyze and design solutions related to sustainable cities, with a project that can be developed at either urban or architectural scale. The main focus is on the design solutions, but the meaning and importance of the development process will be considered together with them. In other words, the projects affect the process and vice versa, and therefore they both need to be considered equally relevant in the sustainable design process.
