Additional information
Students have to be present on the first day of the course and on time to be sure of retaining their place. When a course is over-subscribed, i.e. there are more sign-ups than places on the course, then we enrol the required number of students according to the following criteria: 1) students' position at TUT (degree students have priority) 2) the number of 'study points' the students have 3) the time of the sign-up.

Requirements
Active participation in lectures (75% attendance), assignments and successful performance in all parts of the final examination.
Completion parts must belong to the same implementation
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to understand slow, clearly spoken, simple spoken Finnish as well as short texts. Students will also be able to cope with everyday situations involving the exchange of information. Students will be able to write short texts, and they will gain a command of basic grammatical structures, with a vocabulary adequate for dealing with familiar topics.

Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes
Students must attend 75% of the lessons to be able to take part in the final exam. Course grade is based on the final exam which includes four subtests: speaking (25% of the grade), listening comprehension (25%), writing, grammar and vocabulary (25%) and reading comprehension (25%). Students must pass all the subtests to pass the course.
