Requirements
Giving a 15-20 min seminar presentation of the topic area of one's own master's thesis and responding to questions about it from the audience. In connection of the seminar presentation, the student must also give a maturity test, which demonstrates his/her command of the thesis topic. The maturity of the student is shown by a three page essay of the thesis topic (no illustrations or tables) which has to be delivered to the teacher and the thesis supervisor at least one week before the presentation. Students of the international MSc degree programme in Information Technology are the prime target of this course.
Learning Outcomes
Having passed the course the student can prepare a presentation about his/her own work to a group of peers and he/she can achieve the given time frame in the seminar presentation. The student can choose the complexity level of the presentation according to the target audience. The student practises using modern presentation techniques equipment and knows how to take care of the practical presentation arrangements.
