Learning Outcomes
- | Students are able to apply information technology and software engineering in health care problems and produce solutions and services for health care according to international regulations and standards. |
- | Students are able to model physiological and health care systems and their measurements, and able to construct computational models for different medical applications. |
- | Students are able to identify and formulate problems and rise to these challenges in the field of medicine and health care by applying information technology. |
- | Students are able to design and apply basic methods for processing and analyzing biosignals and for analyzing medical images. |
Prerequisites
The student should have previous knowledge from the field of information technology, computer science, or biomedical engineering. ( Mandatory )

The field of medical informatics is broad, covering different management activities of medical and biological data, information and knowledge. eHealth covers various applications of information and communications technology in medicine and healthcare. Special topics of medical informatics include biomedical signal processing and medical image analysis, computational modeling, and neuroinformatics. Minor subjects that support the medical informatics major include Signal Processing, Mathematics and Computational Biology. Biomedical Engineering is not allowed as a minor subject for this major.
