The Professional Course 2 in Planning and Urban Design focusses on strategic, regional and general master planning. It gives skill and knowledge both for planning and urban design practice and for research and development tasks. In 2013, the broadest context of the course project are the interactions, networks and on-going planning and governance in the international Tampere-Helsinki-Tallinn corridor. In this context, the task is to create general master plans for interesting study areas in Tampere region and Southern Pirkanmaa. Besides the full-season project, the course consists of lecture series on current planning trends and theories of urban and regional change, case workshops, home exam, site and actor visits and short international excursion. The GIS module of the course is same as earlier independent course AYS 2450. |
