Requirements

The course is completed by passing the final exam. The grade can be upgraded by means of the offered homeworks.

Learning Outcomes

The course gives the basic knowledge related to the conventional DC/DC converter topologies and the associated switching devices in such a way that the student recognizes the basic converters by name and topology, knows the absic terminology, can analyze the behvaior of the converter in continuous and discontinuous conduction modes, can solve the voltage and current stresses of the power-satge components and sketch the associated waveforms as well as knows the behavior and the related anomalies of the basic switching devices and can compute their power losses.
