Learning Outcomes

After passing this course, the student has an overview of transport in international context. The student is familiar with the factors affecting the transport sector and transport system in international context. The student can analyse the development and future prospects of transport with environmental scanning tools. The student has developed reporting and presentation skills in English.

Content

Content Core content Complementary knowledge Specialist knowledge
1. Transport in international context. The role of different transport modes in international passenger and freight transport. Regional differences in transport demand and in the use of different transport modes.
2. Key factors affecting the development of transport and transport systems. Analysing which are the key factors and the development trends affecting transport and how transport is influenced.  Environmental scanning and practical tools for environmental scanning
3. International actions and actors that affect the development of transport.

Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes

The grade is given based on the accomplishments of the the given assignments. Note that there is no final exam in this course. Good knowledge in the course's core content and applying it in the form of good reporting and presenting the results of the assignments, gives the grade 3. Grades 4 and 5 are possible if the knowledge as well as applying it by reporting and presenting are excellent.

Assessment scale:

Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course

Partial passing:

Completion parts must belong to the same implementation
