When a course is over-subscribed, i.e. there are more sign-ups than places on the course, then we enrol the required number of students according to the sign-up time and target group. Students on the sign-up / waiting list have to be present on the first day of the course to be sure of retaining their place.

Requirements
Participation in three group meetings to give and get feedback to manuscripts written by participants, together with evidence of completion of a limited number of online modules.
Learning Outcomes
This course supports the development of a manuscript for publication, a conference paper, and/or a doctoral dissertation. It is also suitable for doctoral students and research staff. The development of a manuscript will happen through peer and instructor support in small groups. While developing the above mentioned manuscript, participants will also complete online self-study modules in order to supplement their learning according to their own weaknesses/ needs. This course is more advanced than Kie-34106 Academic Writing and is not intended as a replacement to a full introduction to the basics of academic writing, although the online modules do address basic issues as well.

Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes
This course is offered on a pass-fail basis based on participation in a writing group (three times) and evidence of completing sufficient number of online modules.
