Learning Outcomes
After taking the course the student can present the basic information in psychology and apply his skills in the design of technology and environment. Special focus is on pervasive computing environments. The topics to be learned are: human development, personality, information processing, communication, emotion, creativity, group-behaviour, organizational psychology, psychology of consumption and aesthetics, and designing for special groups.

The course deals with psychology of human behavior and its design implications in pervasive computing. Areas covered are cognition, attention, emotion, personality, consumption, group behavior, communication and values. Pervasive computing as an application area is introduced and design implications are elaborated. Course consists of lectures, exercises (basic UX research) and assignments (design exercises on applying psychology to pervasive computing). |
