This preparatory course is intended for students who do not yet have sufficient skills to take the foreign language requirement in English. Prior to acceptance to the course, participants are asked to send an email to the instructor explaining their need to take the course. Tämä opintojakso on tarkoitettu opiskelijoille, joiden kielitaito ei vielä riitä tutkinnossa vaadittavien englannin kielen opintojaksojen suorittamiseen. Ryhmään pääsyn edellytyksenä on, että opiskelija lähettää opettajalle sähköpostin, jossa perustelee osallistumistarpeensa. Opintojakso soveltuu vain tutkinto-opiskelijoille

Osaamistavoitteet

By the end of this course, students should have the necessary level of oral fluency in English to participate in the regular spoken communication course which fufills the first part of the foreign language requirement at TUT. Therefore, the aim is to increase the student's level of confidence, grammatical and lexical knowledge, as well as pronunciation so that they can interact in a university setting at a B2 level.

1.	Discussion of key ideas, problems, and characteristics of one's own field of study.
2.	Revision of essential grammatical structures and vocabulary that are necessary for interaction at a B2 level or above in a university setting.
3.	Identification and practice of key features of pronunciation necessary for effective communication.
