The course provides an introduction to the institutional architecture of the international system. Throughout the course, students will gain detailed knowledge on a number of formal and less formal international and global institutions; and reflect on the changing nature of agency in world politics, in terms of who acts, on what scale and to which potential and real effects. Overall, the course is designed to help students examine and assess the fluidity of international affairs in terms of both its relevant actors as well as dominant assessments of the top priorities for international cooperation at a given historical moment.
