Students understand the interdisciplinary nature of management by familiarizing themselves with perspectives offered by Business Studies, Administrative Studies and Politics and learn about the basics of management as a concept and professional practice. In particular, students will be able to analyse the effectiveness/ineffectiveness of some managerial practices and what are the central roles and responsibilities related to management particularly in private, public and non-profit organisations. Students are also familiarized what are the most crucial current challenges and future perspectives facing the management and concrete managerial working duties. In particular, the course will aim to equip students with argumentation and debating skills in the context of decision-making and managerial work.
Management theories, differences and similarities of disciplinary approaches related to management, future directions of management, argumentation skills in managerial work.
Course literature and other materials will be announced in the first class.
Course is organised for 15-50 students. In the case that less than 15 students will enroll to the course, it will be cancelled in Fall semester 2017.
