The purpose of the course is to explore various aspects of Innovation, Research and Development and New Technologies, and to assess their connections to economic growth.
- Start-up lecture and composing of the working groups.
- Active group work and online participation: discussions on specific weekly topics based on appropriate literature and online links (the material is given on weekly basis, and it includes scientific articles, internet links and related newspaper articles).
- The group work aims for case studies based on a particular country, region, firm or any other relevant actor in the innovation process, including empirical applications of the concepts and theories of the course material.
- Each group presents its work in a seminar session (with PowerPoint slides), while the other groups give prepared comments on the presentation.
- After the seminar presentation, and taking into account the comments raised by the seminar audience, the group works are revised to a final essay (5-10 pages typewritten with references).
