Optional course, max 16 students.

Content: The course focuses on increasing self-awareness related to worldviews and beliefs about diversity issues. The course covers different diversity issues derived from theories, researches, and everyday life experiences. There will be a learning environment that is conducive for students to express their informed opinions on the different topics that will be discussed. 

Learning outcomes:
On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

- recognize differences and identify the value of diversity
- develop multicultural sensitivity
- gain and develop skills in recognizing diverse viewpoints and worldviews
- analyze different skills  to live and work in a diverse society

Modes of Study: This course is designed as a seminar and it involves discussion, oral presentation and some lecturing.  

Enrolment in NettiOpsu for the course not later than on Sunday 27.1.2013.

Study materials/literature: Selected articles on diversity-related issues. Articles will be given to the students in the beginning of the course.
