About prerequisites: student should have understanding of basic concepts and methods of usability and human centered design before entering the course. (S)he can define usability goals and conduct a simple task analysis and a user study. (S)he can conduct a small scale usability test in a laboratory and in the field.

The course gives an overview of the fields of human-technology interaction and interaction design. It cannot be taken by students who have done the courses VTEKP2 Introduction to Interactive Technology (Johdatus vuorovaikutteiseen teknologiaan) and VTEKA15 Introduction to User Interfaces (Käyttöliittymien perusteet).
This course will be in Moodle. The recommended time for taking this course is in Period I at the beginning of studies. Also available on period III.
The course is intended for the HTI students starting in Master's degree studies in UTA or TUT and for other international Master's degree students in UTA.

Ohjelmoinnin tekniikka koostuu kahdesta erillisestä 5 op laajuisesta kurssista, joista ensimmäisessä opetellaan C- ja jälkimmäisessä C++-ohjelmointikieltä. Kurssit on mahdollista suorittaa toisistaan riippumattomasti, mutta suositeltavin tapa on suorittaa C- ja C++-kurssit peräkkäin.
Kurssit ovat luonteeltaan ohjelmointaitoa syventäviä ja siten todennäköisesti vaativampia kuin ohjelmoinnin peruskurssit TIEP1 Lausekielinen ohjelmointi (aikaisemmin TKOPP1) tai TIEA2 Olio-ohjelmoinnin perusteet (aikaisemmin TKOPA14).
