Intermediate Studies, 35–45 ECTS

Learning outcomes

After completing Intermediate Studies, the student should have extensive knowledge of central areas of English Philology, proficiency in English, and the ability to present ideas in appropriate academic style making critical use of source materials. English majors will have experience in the process of writing and presenting a research paper, and will have produced their BA thesis.

Evaluation

Numeric 1-5.

For an overall grade of 3, 4 or 5 the student must have, in addition to a sufficiently high overall average, a grade of at least 3 in Pronunciation and Intonation(EngfA1b) and a valid grade (not more than 5 years old) in the Language Skills Test (see EngfA0).

Further information

Intermediate studies 45 credit points (including the proseminar and BA) for English majors, and 35 credit points for second subject students.
Successful progress at the Intermediate Studies level presupposes an overall grade of at least 3 at the Basic Studies level.
Before the overall grade can be given, the related language requirement (French, German or Latin) should also have been completed and registered.
