Learning outcomes

One the basis of the seminar student can
- define an argumented research theme and elaborate logical question setting, that problematizes the topic
- outline a relevant research plan, find relevant literature and research material
- give constructive criticism
- manage different phases of the research process
- execute research independently

Contents

The thesis seminar convenes throughout the second year. Each student is required to present three papers and act and participate as opponent. Participation in the seminar sessions is compulsory, and students are required to read each other's papers and provide argumented comments on them.

The student presents a) an updated version of problematically elaborated research plan, including a list of literature and other research material, b) an essay based on the literature (thematic literature studies to outline the framework relevant for the study) and c) a full chapter of the thesis. Each student also acts as an opponent to another student's paper.

Evaluation

Pass/fail.
