Learning outcomes

On completing the course, students
- can understand, read and write relatively extended Arabic language
- can understand and talk with a degree of fluency about activities in the past, present and future
- can participate in conversations where they tell about themselves, about other and about their immediate surroundings, providing that the conversations partner speaks clearly
- can express reasons and contrasting opinions
- can tell the time and discuss everyday life
- can write clear and detailed short texts
- can talk in Arabic about the Arab culture and Arab national and religious events

Contents

The course offers a variety of reading, writing, listening and speaking activities along with grammar lessons. The course is based on peer and group work in different situations. In addition to the work done in the classroom, the course requires independent work, for instance in the Self Access Centre of the Language Centre, where students may improve and develop their learning skills according to their own needs.
