Learning outcomes

The module gives an overview of the central problems and approaches of the philosophy of science and introduces the questions of science studies form the point of view of philosophy.

Contents

The study module contains at least following themes:
- purposes of science
- theoretical interpretation of observations and experiments
- scientific reasoning
- causality and scientific explanation
- scientific realism
- relation of values and facts
