Upon successful completion of the course unit, the student will have the basic skills to produce a literary translation. The student will have an understanding of the special characteristics and practical challenges of translating one or more specific genres of fiction (such as short stories or poetry). In addition, the student will be able to assess and comment on existing translations of literary texts.
Contents
The course unit consists of lectures and exercises. During the course unit, the student will independently produce a literary translation and write a commentary on the translation process, as well as assess and comment on the translations of other students. The course unit will be carried out in multilingual groups. In addition to the group meetings, each student will receive guidance and personal feedback on their translation from the teacher of their B working language.
