Learning outcomes

After having completed the study unit, the student has gained a good grasp of the central theories and main schools of international relations (IR) and their approaches/methods. The student is able to identify them from research literature and she/he can appraise and compare them critically. The student can apply these theories to political practices and research materials.

Course 21 h; Lectures, group work, papers and written exercises.

The lectures focus on the main theories of IR and on their methodological approaches. The students deepen their knowledge by the articles available at the course which are dealt with in groups. The exercises made during the course are evaluated.
