An internship or work placement for 3 months in the field of public health.
Learning outcomes
After completing an internship the student knows how to use the skills learned and knowledge gained in Public Health studies. The internship also gives students the ability to evaluate the internship with the help of knowledge achieved in Public Health studies. Thus, the student is able to analyze his/her own knowledge-level and practical skills, as well as recognize areas where further development is needed.

The internship is composed on following themes 1. Internship info 2. Internship in a workplace related to public health (3 months) and making internship plan 3. Composing a written report on the internship and giving a presentation in the internship seminar.

The work practicum study model is composed of an internship, an information session, the internship seminar, a report and participation in the working life theme day (if given in English). The documents and presentations include a written internship plan, an internship report, a presentation and evaluation discussion in the internship seminar.

Further information
The student has to participate info session before conducting the internship. Internship plan and possible application for financial support for internship have to be approved in the unit beforehand. The longer internship (10 ECTS) can also be carried out as an international internship if applicable to the studies.Funding can be applied for from the Erasmus programme (International workplacement).
