Learning outcomes

To familiarise the student with the trends, methods and results of research on interactive information retrieval from the viewpoint of research on information seeking and to prepare students for conducting research on interactive information retrieval.

Contents

The connections of research on information seeking and information retrieval are examined as well as the main results of experimental and non-experimental research on the processes and search results of information retrieval and their connections. A small-scale empirical work on a topic in the field of interactive information retrieval will be prepared as group work.
