Osaamistavoitteet
Upon completion of the course the students are familiar with the historic, economic and cultural contexts of international health and health policy development. The students are able to understand how health can be measured in different settings and how health care services are organized in different countries. They know the main determinants of health and the burden of the major communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Participation in problem based learning (PBL) exercises, participation in and completion of group work, oral presentation (of the student's own country profiles or other topics), passing exam.

Numerolla 1-5.
The course is graded on a scale 1-5. The grade is given by the teacher responsible for the course, based on student’s activity on course, the oral presentation and a written exam.
Lisätietoja
Compulsory for all master's degree students in public health (both Finnish and international programme). If more students wish to take the course, preference is given to degree students in health sciences and others will be accepted in the order of registration.
