After successful completion of the module, the students will be able to - understand texts from the field of commerce and economy and from their own field in particular - communicate in writing in the different stages of a business act by writing for example surveys, offers, orders, and messages concerning payment transactions and banking - write reports, surveys and predictions that are either economically general in nature or concern company processes and results by using the special terminology learned in this study module
Contents
During the course, the students - read and analyse economical publications and scientific articles from different fields, as well as annual reports, business letters, etc. - add to the terminologies learned from the afore-mentioned texts - used the words from texts and vocabularies in active writing - become familiar with the linguistic expressions describing trends, expressing causal relations, and the use of clue words defining the semantic relations of text - become familiar with international commerce trade terms, terms of payment, etc.
