Learning outcomes

To learn the basics of reading, conducting and writing scientific research, and of scientific discussion.

Contents

Basics of research, summing up and evaluating research, research methods, literature review, planning research, intermediate reporting, writing a thesis, scientific communication.

Further information on prerequisites and recommendations

The course can only be taken by major subject students of information studies.

20 h + 20 h of seminar, readings, exercises in research writing and a Bachelor’s thesis

Modes of study

Participation in the seminar, reading the given material and completing exercises. During the academic year, the student writes a Bachelor’s thesis on the basis of a review of research literature or a small-scale analysis of empirical data. Finally, the student takes the maturity test.

Numeric 1-5.
based on the grade of the Bachelor’s thesis
